We would like to invite you to attend our childbirth education classes.

These classes will benefit you, your support people, and your baby! FamilyCare offers a variety of class opportunities so you may attend the birth class that fits your schedule.
:: Birth Classes: Please call for current dates.
- Women's Health & Birth Center: Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-8:30pm Five week session (The day of class will alternate monthly)
- Patrick Street: Thursdays 12:30-3pm - Two week session
- Patrick Street: All day class 9am-4pm - Once a month

The following topics are included in all of our classes:
- Introduction to birth
- Real and false labor
- How to time contractions
- The labor process!
- Support person skills
- Comfort measures
- Pain Medication options
- C-Sections
- Circumcision
- Post-partum depression
You are free to bring whoever you wish with you - there is no limit - however, please leave children at home where they will be entertained. The cost is $60 (some insurance companies pay this fee. Medicaid covers all our classes.). We do offer a sliding scale - please contact us for more information.

:: Bootie Time - Breastfeeding and Infant Care: Please call for current dates.
- Patrick Street: Thursday 3-5:pm one class per month.
FamilyCare offers Bootie Time as a means for you to gain confidence in your ability to care for your newborn baby. We cover all aspects of newborn care: bathing, holding, burping, diapering, dressing, signs of illness, newborn behaviors, and more! We spend an entire hour on breastfeeding alone and discuss topics such as the perfect latch, how to tell if your baby is getting enough, problem solving, and proper positioning.
